whenever we read a novel i can't help but see little pieces of myself in the main characters, be they social darwin carrie of sister carrie, the awakened edna of the awakening, the backboneless catherine of a farewell to arms, the husky voiced jordan of the great gatsby, or the capricious brett of the sun also rises. while i would be doing myself a great injustice to say i am exactly like each (and thus proving more facets there are to myself than i have), i can see myself acting with some of the same manners they act. i feel the same capricious anger, the same intense longing, the same desires of celebrity.
